Madhabdev College,
a pioneer institute of higher education in rural-tribal area
of Narayanpur Revenue Circle of Lakhimpur District, Assam
was established in 1964, an affiliated college under
Dibrugarh University offering education in Arts and Science
upto degree level besides career-oriented courses and
vocational course. As a result of selfless endeavour of
leading social workers and cultural elites of Narayanpur the
college was founded and named after the great vaishnavite
leader Guru Sri Sri Madhabdev, the cultural architect that
synthesized and integrated the Assamese society, connecting
it as a significant unit with the national tradition.
Grounded upon the loving spirit and anticipation of the
local mass the college has marched forward from the status
of a ventured institute to its present position of fourteen
teaching departments, two hostels, a central library,
laboratories, administrative and academic wings, auditorium,
interior and exterior playgrounds over and above necessary
infrastructure, tools. Games and sports, culture and
literature, seminars, workshops, conferences and symposia,
reach out programmes and extension activities are the
integrated paradigms to the regular academic programmes of
the institute. |
